Hello! Life can be challenging, and sometimes we forget that we don't have to navigate it alone. My name is Erica, and I look forward to the opportunity to get to know you, understand your unique story, and support you in your journey toward healing and growth.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois and earned my Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Akron in Ohio in 2009. Throughout my career, I have provided therapy in community settings, schools, and private practice offices, working with individuals across the lifespan. I have experience helping clients navigate depression, anxiety, anger, family conflict, grief and loss, parenting challenges, social and behavioral concerns, and the effects of trauma.
My approach to counseling is person-centered because I believe you are the expert on your own life. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your concerns, identify your strengths, and move toward meaningful change. I am committed to providing LGBTQ+ affirming care and believe everyone deserves to be seen, respected, and supported as their authentic self.
I recently completed EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) training, which allows me to offer an evidence-based approach for helping individuals process trauma, reduce emotional distress, and build resilience. In addition to EMDR, I draw from a variety of therapeutic techniques based on each person's needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, homework and skill-building exercises, validation, and gentle challenge.
My goal is to provide acceptance, understanding, and clarity during life's difficult moments. Reaching out for support takes courage, and that first step is often the hardest. I am honored to walk alongside my clients as they discover their own answers, build confidence, and create meaningful change. I look forward to being part of your journey.

When I am not at work, there is nothing I like to do more than spend time with my family. I moved to the Peoria area from Ohio, along with my husband and three kids, and it’s been an adventure getting to know central Illinois! I love playing soccer and tennis and following my kids as they grow into young adults.
